Cheryl Rodney serves as the Receptionist to the Dean's Office. Responsibilities of her position include providing administrative support for the general functions of the Dean's Office, assistance and support to the Associate Deans to include scheduling, committee coordination, and project support. She serves as a back-up to the Dean's Executive Assistant, provides support to the HR Department and Advancement Team. She is currently providing support in the preparation of the Center for Arts Migration and Entrepreneurship for its upcoming launch.
Cheryl thoroughly enjoys working in the eclectic artistic atmosphere of COTA. She has always had a love for the arts. Though amateur at best, she enjoys painting and photography. These art forms bring her a sense of peace. She has a newly found appreciation for jazz music, and often has it playing at her desk. Playing the clarinet with the band was a highlight of her middle school years. She pushed the arts aside to pursue her dream of a healthcare career once in high school. She completed the Certified Nursing Assistant Program obtaining her CNA certification prior to graduating high school. An out-of-state move, and life events would put a stop to any further advancement in that area.
Cheryl comes to the Dean's Office with a background in non-profit program coordination, management/supervision, accounting assistance, and customer service.
In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys kayaking, SCUBA diving, motorcycle riding, camping, traveling, photography, painting, and making memories with family and friends.
