Honey is one of two Human Resources Generalists for the College of the Arts, working alongside Katie Simon and under the leadership of the College’s Director of Human Resources, Barb Mitola. Together, they form a collaborative and service-focused HR team dedicated to supporting faculty, staff, and students across the College. Honey holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration and brings strong expertise in organizational management and administrative operations.
In her role, Honey specializes in leave administration, including FMLA and other protected leave policies, and provides guidance on compliance with Department of Labor regulations and other federal employment laws. She is a key resource for interpreting and applying HR policies and ensuring the College remains compliant with ever-evolving legal standards. Known for her problem-solving mindset and clear communication, Honey serves as a trusted point of contact for a variety of HR-related questions and support.
Honey also served for six years as an officer in the Academic Professional's Association (APA), the Institute’s professional administrative organization. During that time, she led numerous successful events and initiatives, including The Warm Welcome—an innovative onboarding event designed to create a more inclusive and engaging experience for new employees. The initiative was later featured in the CUPA-HR newsletter and received a national award for HR Innovation.
Driven by a strong sense of service and a passion for helping others, Honey believes in creating positive employee experiences across the board. Her favorite quote, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude,” by Maya Angelou, reflects her proactive and resilient approach to work and life.
Outside of work, Honey enjoys theme parks, hiking, and anything involving water—always seeking out adventure and connection in all she does.
