Keith Thompson completed undergraduate studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master's of Music Education at Duquesne University and a PH. D in Music Education at Case-Western Reserve University. He taught general music in elementary schools in Pennsylvania and Ohio and served on the Music Education Faculties of The Ohio State University, University of Illinois and Valdosta State University. He served as Co-Ordinator of Music Education at The Pennsylvania State University for more than 30 years before retiring to Amelia Island, Florida. His primary area of reserach is on guiding music listening. He has more that 75 publications, many dealing with teaching music to exceptional learners. He curretly is a tenor with the Amelia Island Singers and teaches Psychology of Music and Creative Thinking in Music in the on-line Master's program in Music Education.
