Born in Detroit, Michigan, Willard Brask graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit and completed his undergraduate and master's degrees in music at the University of Michigan. He served on the piano faculty at Newberry College, The University of Michigan, Ithaca College, and The University of Florida, where he also directed opera and musical theater. He played for the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, Jackie Gleason, and baritone Sherril Milnes. Brask passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017.
