Biography

Jessica Riley Jay Sencer (c/o '99) is thrilled to return to her alma mater with over two decades of experience supporting student success.

At the College of the Arts, Jessica provides administrative and project management support in the areas of undergraduate student recruitment and student lifecycle experience. Jessica plays a primary role in the planning and execution of student recruitment efforts including events, materials creation and dissemination, and data collection and analysis, serving as a member of the college's advising and recruitment team. Jessica tracks and makes recommendations related to the overall undergraduate student experience lifecycle; collaborates with other partners in the college to identify articulation and connection points within and between academic programs and campus life; and develops and implements initiatives that enhance the student experience. Additionally, Jessica assists with the development, coordination, and support of alumni engagement activities, working with other college partners to develop and implement activities that both engage UF alumni with current students and support alumni in their own work. 

Jessica graduated with an M.A. in English / Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida and earned a B.A. in English with a Secondary Education minor from the University of Florida. As the sole copywriter for the nation's largest provider of online orientations for higher education institutions, Jessica welcomed, onboarded, and empowered thousands of students across the U.S. and beyond. Jessica has served as an educator for St Johns River State College, Florida State College at Jacksonville, St Johns County School District, and Clay County District Schools. At the University of North Florida, Jessica was an English instructor for the Academic Success Program and coordinated dual enrollment and articulation agreements with the Office of Records and Registration. Jessica writes poetry and fiction, loves the beach, and can most often be found laughing and enjoying her family and friends whom she absolutely treasures.
