Harold Villa began his musical studies at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música de Honduras in 2006, where he started his studies in Trumpet performance. In 2012, he held the position of second trumpet with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Honduras in which later, in 2013, he won the position of Principal Trumpet of the Orchestra. He has performed with several ensemblesde La Universidad Nacional de Honduras, Ensamble de Bronces UCR, YOA youth Orchestra, and with the Orquesta Centroamericana y del Caribe (OJCA 2015). Harold Villa has been part of trumpet symposiums and festivals such as, Festival Musical de Antioquia (Colombia), Trombalandia Pro (Italy) National Trumpet Competition (USA), International Trumpet Guild (USA), Atril Virtual (Honduras), Encuentro Virtual de Trompetistas (HN). He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Trumpet Performance under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Murray from Schwob School of Music in Columbus, Ga. While in Georgia, he performed with the Springer Opera House, Cinderella production 2019, The Columbus Ballet (Nutcracker), The Auburn Knights Jazz Orchestra (AL), and SanduJazz (Hattiesburg, MS). He obtained his Masters degree in Trumpet Performance from the University of Florida. He is currently pursuing his DMA studies and holds a Teaching Assistant position at the University of Florida where he performs with the Faculty Brass Quintet, UF Wind Symphony, and UF Symphony Orchestra. At the same time, he performs with The Gainesville Orchestra, the Ocala Symphony, and the North Charleston Pops Orchestra (SC) as well. Harold Villa teaches and performs in the North Central Florida area regularly. He enjoys playing football, watching sports, hiking and traveling.
