As the Associate Director for Student Affairs and Administration at UF Digital Worlds Institute, Justin Marlin, a proud University of Florida alumnus holding a BA in Political Science and an M.Ed in Student Personnel in Higher Education from UF College of Education, focuses primarily on creating a supportive environment for student success, overseeing essential student affairs functions, and supporting administrative responsibilities within the Institute.
In his role, Justin is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including student recruitment, admissions, student organizations, career counseling, alumni engagement, and academic support services. He works on various aspects such as developing strategies to improve the success of DW students, organizing internships and experiential learning opportunities that align with Digital Worlds' academic programs, and collaborating with faculty and industry partners to keep academic offerings up-to-date with industry standards. Moreover, Justin manages administrative functions related to the curriculum committee and supports matters related to student conduct, academic integrity, course development, and room scheduling. He also takes the lead in marketing and promotion efforts, overseeing content creation, websites, email communications, and social media initiatives. Justin collaborates with communication teams like COTA Communications and UF Strategic Communications for effective outreach.
Every spring, Justin leads a team in organizing the Digital Worlds Institute's Convergence Student Showcase. This annual event brings together students, alumni, community partners, and industry experts to celebrate and showcase the Institute's achievements and innovations.
