Justin Marlin, Associate Director for Student Affairs and Administration at the University of Florida’s Digital Worlds Institute, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Education in Student Personnel in Higher Education from the UF College of Education. Committed to fostering a supportive environment conducive to student success, Marlin oversees critical student affairs functions while managing essential administrative responsibilities within the Institute.
In his role, Justin is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including student recruitment, admissions, student organizations, career counseling, alumni engagement, and academic support services. He actively works to support and develop student organizations within the Institute, encouraging leadership, collaboration, and professional development opportunities. Justin also plays a key role in organizing immersive and experiential learning activities for students, such as internships, industry site visits, and hands-on projects that align with Digital Worlds’ academic programs. He collaborates with faculty and industry partners to ensure that these experiences remain relevant and impactful, keeping academic offerings current with industry standards.
Additionally, Justin manages administrative functions related to the curriculum committee and supports matters concerning student conduct, academic integrity, course development, and room scheduling. He also leads marketing and promotion efforts, overseeing content creation, websites, email communications, and social media initiatives. Justin works closely with communication teams such as COTA Communications and UF Strategic Communications to ensure effective outreach and engagement with the broader community.
Every spring, Justin leads a team in organizing the Digital Worlds Institute’s Convergence Student Showcase. This annual event brings together students, alumni, community partners, and industry experts to celebrate and highlight the Institute’s achievements and innovations.
