Molly Kempson has been an artist-in-residence at UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine since 2016, working at the bedside with pediatric and adult patients and staff in visual arts engagements.
In addition to her work in the hospital, Kempson is an elementary art educator and letterpress printer. Kempson holds an M.A. in Art Education from the University of Florida and has been in the classroom for seven years as well as teaching Art Methods for Elementary Educators for nine semesters. Her letterpress, linocut, and book arts pieces are under the imprint Spotty Boy Press, and she was the 2016 recipient of the Coffey Residency for Book Arts at UF's Smathers Library and 2018 Artist-in-Residence at the Ashantilly Press in Darien, Georgia.
Kempson strives to make art-making accessible and meaningful in both the hospital and the classroom, especially for adults with limited art experiences.
