Ali Nottke

Biography

Ali Nottke is an Undergraduate Advisor for the School of Art + Art History. Ali received both their B.A. in Sociology and M.S. in Student Affairs Counseling from the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Plattsburgh. Ali brings both experience in counseling and a student-centered approach to their work with students. They have graduate experience in Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Activities, and Conduct and worked professionally for over seven years in Residential Life at two institutions. Most recently, Ali worked as an Area Coordinator at Binghamton University in the Southern Tier of upstate New York from 2016-2021.

Ali acknowledges their position of power with respect to privilege and is particularly driven with regards to racial justice, equity, and inclusion and hopes to improve the collegiate experience for marginalized student populations.

Ali has a strong interest in music as a bass guitarist, having played in multiple bands previously focusing on alternative, punk, metal, classic 80s, 90s, 2000s, and holiday genres. With a fond appreciation for the arts and a passion for working with college students, COTA was a natural next step in Ali’s career and they couldn’t be more excited to join the SA+AH team!
