Biography

Jamie Burg earned a Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Florida.  In addition to her appointment in the School of Music, she is an Assistant Professor at P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School.  She earned a Master of Music in Music Education degree from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy degree from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.

Her teaching and research specialty is popular music learning in schools, but she has a strong record as a traditional band and orchestra director.  Jamie is an active teacher and teacher mentor who enjoys her work as a clinician and researcher. She is a music teacher leader in the community who taught band, orchestra, and popular music courses in secondary music classrooms since 2001.
