Lauren’s arts in health journey began as an undergraduate volunteer with UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine (AIM). Drawn deeper into the work, she enrolled as a service-learning student with the UF Center for Arts in Medicine (CAM) and became part of the first cohort to complete the Dance in Medicine Certificate. In 1999, she stepped into a staff role as an artist in residence and program administrator. Seven years later, she became a registered nurse while continuing her artistic and administrative work with AIM.
Now, as AIM’s nurse coordinator, Lauren champions the integration of the arts in healthcare by supporting, developing, and evaluating AIM’s clinical programs to ensure safety, quality, and progress. She is actively involved in shared clinical governance, serves on nursing councils and committees, and holds an adjunct assistant professor appointment with CAM.
