Jordan Lenchitz

Biography

Jordan Lenchitz is a PhD candidate at the Florida State University College of Music, where he was a Legacy Fellow and instructor of music theory from 2018-2023. He previously earned degrees in music composition, piano, mathematics, and French from Indiana University. His dissertation considers listening to a cappella singing using barbershop musics, Sardinian cuncordu, and recent works by Michael Harrison and Toby Twining as case studies of an ecological approach. In his spare time Jordan enjoys the desert, writing and experiencing musicals, walking, studying Sanskrit, Sogdian, Chinese, and Pali, and creating experimental sound and video art.
