Museum Studies
Shape the stories that shape us.
The museum studies program at UF prepares future museum professionals to lead with purpose, insight, and care. While considering the history and future of museums, students explore how cultural institutions shape public understanding—and how we can reimagine them.
Rooted in theory and built on practice, this interdisciplinary program fosters the skills and perspectives needed to thrive in your career in museums, archives, nonprofits, and cultural heritage institutions. From community partnerships to national conferences, students gain hands-on experience while studying everything from curatorship and interpretation to registration and organizational strategy.
Established in 1999, UF’s program is the longest-running museum studies program in the Southeast. Each year, students travel together to meet with museum professionals and engage directly with some of the world’s leading institutions.
Our graduates are ready to meet the evolving challenges of 21st-century museum professions.
