- Maker in Residence Program
CAME’s Maker in Residence is a leader in creative research, education and innovative artistic practice that centers collaboration with partners across COTA, UF and beyond. Students from any discipline are encouraged to take classes taught by the CAME Maker in Residence, as well as participate in exciting research and programming opportunities that the Maker brings to the Center.
Marlon Barrios Solano is an artist blending dance, cognitive science and technology to create works using AI, machine learning, creative coding and performance.
As CAME’s inaugural Maker in Residence (2020-2024), Qudus Onikeku mixed visionary creative performance with cutting edge technologies and research.
As a former CAME Maker in Residence (2023-24), Braxton Rae facilitated creative workshops for College of Engineering students via the IGNITE program (Innovation Gator Network for Inspiring Technological Entrepreneurship) to increase design innovation.
In Spring 2024, Natalia Guerrero (Ph.D. in Astronomy, MFA in Art and Art History) teamed up with former CAME Maker in Residence, Braxton Rae, to produce Story of a Photon, an ensemble performance incorporating elements of devised theatre and dance to tell the story of a particle of light traveling from a distant star to the eye of an observer on Earth.
