Graphic Design/Design & Visual Communications

Submit Job Opportunity

Thank you for your interest in hiring UF students. Use this form to submit an internship, freelance, or permanent/hourly/contract job opportunity to share with junior/senior graphic design majors OR graduate design & visual communications students Should you have questions, please reach out to design@arts.ufl.edu. Some considerations:

  1. We do not support spec work or competitionsWe do not advertise unpaid internships or volunteer opportunities with very few, if any, exceptions. Students need to pay rent, eat, have time to study, and sleep. For more on this, check out “the most popular Creative Mornings talk of all time with Mike Monteiro as he gives us some valuable advice on how to get paid for the work that you do.
  2. Honorarium/Payment. Hourly: It is suitable to pay by the hour if work is continuous ($15 is the minimum — more if bringing their own hardware/software). Freelance: It is standard practice to negotiate a per-project fee for freelance work. The fee is determined by the designer based on the proposed scope of work and included in a letter of agreement. When all parties agree on the scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees, an initial payment of 25–50% is standard practice for a designer to begin work. That is how the design business works.
  3. Students will be able to work remotely during the pandemic, using their own computers and Adobe CC software. Acknowledge and compensate them for the equipment, software, and space you do not have to supply.
