Center for World Arts Fellowship

International Development Awards for UF Fine Arts Faculty 
Request for Proposals

All full-time faculty within the University of Florida’s College of Fine Arts are invited to submit proposals for the CENTER FOR WORLD ARTS FELLOWSHIP. Designed to stimulate the development and dissemination of highly collaborative intercultural perspectives in arts research and creative projects at UF, CWA Fellowships specifically encourage collaboration with partners* from throughout the University of Florida and/or local or global partners in the creation of internationally oriented, intercultural projects, a key activity of the Center for World Arts. 

Fellows projects include research/creative activities and/or curriculum development and are encouraged, but not restricted to, the following areas:

   · Collaboration with international artist(s) and/or scholar(s) in the planning/execution of new or ongoing artistic/scholarly work.

   · Collaboration with UF colleagues outside of the College of Fine Arts in the planning/execution of new or ongoing artistic/scholarly work.

   ·  Collaboration on an innovative international project in the arts. 

   · Initiation of new projects to enhance arts curricula with intercultural/international perspectives.

   · Faculty or guest artist/scholar’s travel to plan or realize any of above.

For other types of international projects to be considered, identify the special circumstances justifying its consideration and give evidence of outstanding quality. 

Fellows will be required to formally present results of their funded project during a Center for World Arts roundtable discussion to be coordinated with University of Florida’s International Center. Center for World Arts Fellows and will become affiliate faculty members of the Center welcomed to collaborate with and initiate Center projects in the future.

At this time, the anticipated maximum award from the Center for World Arts Fellowship is $2,500. Additional financial commitments made by the Director of the applicant’s School and/or UF partners or external funders will play a critical role in the evaluation of the proposal. The CWA Fellowship may support as many as 3 awards for international creative/research/teaching enhancement activity from July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010.
