Our Faculty and Staff
Our faculty is engaged in creating and producing art for public art commissions,
and exhibiting and performing their work in national and international venues.
Our excellent faculty has received many important national international awards
and honors, such as the Rome Prize, Guggenheim Fellowships, Getty Fellowship,
Fulbright Fellowships, Smithsonian Institute Fellowship, National Endowment for
the Arts Fellowship Awards, National Endowment for the Humanities Awards, Florida
Division of Cultural Affairs Grants and many more.
Schools
College of Fine Arts students work with a faculty of dedicated teachers,
accomplished artists, and highly respected scholars in its three fully accredited
schools of Art and Art History, Music and Theatre and Dance.
The College of Fine Arts offers professional instruction for students seeking
careers in the arts through the undergraduate and graduate curricula in Acting,
Art Education, Art History, Ceramics, Conducting, Costume Design, Creative Photography,
Dance, Digital Arts and Sciences, Digital Media, Drawing, Ethnomusicology, General
Theatre, Graphic Design, Lighting Design, Museum Studies, Music in Combination with
an Outside Field, Music Education, Music History and Literature, Music Performance,
Music Theatre, Music Theory and Composition, Musicology, Painting, Printmaking,
Sacred Music, Scene Design, Sculpture, and Visual Art Studies.
Centers, Institutes, and Affiliates
Center for the Arts in Healthcare Research & Education. The CAHRE Center is an
innovative new organization dedicated to interdisciplinary collaboration between
the arts and healthcare.
The Center for World Arts promotes diversity and encourages collaborative,
multidisciplinary, and inter-cultural perspectives in the arts linking global
communities.
The Digital Worlds Institute exists to nurture leading edge research and education
between engineering and the arts, utilizing the tools of digital technology and culture.
The New World School of the Arts is a cooperative venture of Dade County Public
Schools, Miami-Dade Community College and the University of Florida. The school
prepares students for professional careers in Dance, Music, Theatre and the Visual
Arts.
Buildings
- University Auditorium, opened in 1924, includes a concert stage, seating for 867
- Constans Theatre, opened in 1967, houses a 420-seat proscenium theatre, and State Two, a black box theatre with approximately 40 seats
- Music Building, dedicated in 1971
- Nadine McGuire Theatre and Dance Pavilion, including Constans Theatre, dedicated in 2004: 480 seats, Black Box Theatre: 200 seats
- Steinbrenner Band Hall, dedicated in 2008

University Galleries
- University Gallery�s six exhibitions per year bring current ideas in contemporary art to students and community.
- Focus Gallery is an 850 square foot space in the main lobby of Fine Arts Building C that presents curated exhibitions of student and invited artists' work.
- Grinter Gallery of International Art, on the first floor of Grinter Hall, is the venue for exhibitions of art created by international students and area artists, as well as a location for traveling exhibits of internationally based art.
