University of Florida International Piano Festival

Application information for Summer 2020 will be available in the fall. The following information is for Summer 2019.

Application Deadline: April 15, 2019. Upon review of application materials, applicants will be invited to participate in one of three divisions: Artist, Pre-College, and Observer. Applicants are highly encouraged to apply earlyas space is limitedCorrespondence regarding application status will be made via email.

UFIPF Application Procedures

1.Complete the online application  (application fee: $40) 
Please indicate your birthdate (MM/DD/YY) in the comments section. 

2. Send the following items electronically to Dr. Jasmin Arakawa, Director, UFIPF ( 
(not required for applicants who choose to participate as Observers)
  -- Video files or links (YouTube, etc.) of at least two contrasting works performed by the applicant
  -- A short Essay (less than 300 words) describing your musical background and why you want to participate in the UFIPF
  -- Letter of recommendation from your current piano teacher (to be sent directly to

3. Participants will be notified upon acceptance and given instructions for completing their registration

Registration Timeline

April 15: Application deadline
April 20: Applicants will be notified the acceptance and scholarship status. Applicants are asked to confirm their participation.
May 10: Deadline for Tuition payment
May 24: Deadline for Room & Board payment
June 14: Participants arrive in Gainesville


Artist Division & Rising Artisit Division

Application Fee: $40 (non-refundable) 
Festival Tuition: $500 (merit-based partial or full scholarship available)
Room & Board: $485
