STEP 2: Important Dates and Deadlines for BFA Theatre Production Program
You MUST submit all required materials before an interview will be scheduled. At the end of submitting your materials, you will be asked for interview availability. Interviews will be scheduled via email upon completion of application.
All dates/deadlines posted apply to incoming Freshman applicants, Transfer applicants, and current UF students.
SUBMISSION DEADLINES:
Spring Prescreen Submissions (Fall Interviews Only): January 5, 2026 at 11:59pm
INTERVIEW DATES:
Spring Interview (in person): Saturday, January 17, 2026
Please note that materials are due by 11:59pm on the submission deadline date.
STEP 3: Plan and Prepare Your Portfolio and Interview Materials
A review of your resume, portfolio, and letters of reference are required for all BFA Design and Production students. You will submit these via Google forms.
Please prepare your application materials according to the guidelines below.
Resume
Submission should be made as file named (Area of Interest, Last Name, Resume) It is recommended files are submitted in .pdf format.
Resume Should include:
- Name
- Contact Information
- Education including GPA
- Activities including participation in extracurricular activities, theatre, art, dance, performance, service to the community
Resume Can Include:
- References
- Courses taken in High School in theatre, art, dance, performance
- Notable activities that do not fall under Art/Performing Arts
Portfolio
Submission should be made as a file/files named (Area of Interest, Last Name, Portfolio). It is recommended files are submitted in .pdf format. For digital links, please submit a document with link.
Portfolios should include work in Art/Performing Arts that represents your artistic skill. (Drawings/Paintings, Graphic Design, Photos from Shows, Sound Clips, Garments, Models, etc.)
Portfolios must be digital and can be presented in several formats including but not limited to:
- Slide shows (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote)
- Collection of images
- Website link
- Video link
Letters of Recommendation
Please provide between 1-3 Letters of Reference. Submission should be made as a file/files named (Area of Interest, Last Name, Letter 1…).
Wild Card (Optional)
- This can be anything you want: a special skill, an interesting story about yourself, a passion speech, an unrelated talent, etc.
- Think: “What do you want us to know about you?” and “What makes you unique?”
STEP 4: Submit Your Prescreen Material
Our application platform requires that you have a GOOGLE account in order to submit your material. If you don’t already have one, you can sign up for a free account.

Transfer Students
To be eligible for admission to the School of Theatre and Dance, a transfer student must satisfy the minimum requirements for admission. Additionally, all students must complete two sequential courses of foreign language in secondary school or 8-10 semester hours at the postsecondary level, or document an equivalent level of proficiency. Students attending Florida community colleges are required to complete the Associate of Arts degree.

Minor
All students who plan to minor in Theatre Production must consult the undergraduate advisor at SoTDAdvising@ufl.edu to select a program of study. Of the total credits, nine credits must be at the 3000 level or above and 12 credits must be completed at the University of Florida.
