What do you want to do with your talents? You can fulfil your passion for percussion here. We’re big enough to show you the world of drumming, yet small enough that you’re not a number in a crowd. The Percussion Area features performance opportunities in traditional and unique ensembles, and features instruction from experts in classical, jazz, contemporary, and World music. We can help you develop your sound and style in an environment that will challenge and inspire you.

What is your focus? Percussionists at UF learn to perform, teach, and create music at the highest level. Alumni are performing around the world and teaching at schools and universities both in the US and abroad. International programs offer students opportunities around the globe in addition to bringing international artists to our campus for masterclasses and lessons.

Do you like variety? We offer traditional band and orchestral ensembles, jazz ensembles, world music ensembles (featuring the highly sought after Sunshine Steelers steel drum ensemble), and many more! All ensembles are open to any students (some through audition only) regardless of major.
