Keyboard

A piano student performs in MUB 101 during a recital

Welcome to the Keyboard Area of the University of Florida School of Music, where talented students experience an intensive, stimulating and highly rewarding curriculum led by dedicated faculty artists. UF keyboard students distinguish themselves regularly in festivals and competitions around the globe, with many graduates going on to prominent doctoral programs and teaching positions.  An All-Steinway School, the University of Florida School of Music boasts several excellent performance venues with concert instruments of outstanding quality.  Studios and practice rooms, as well, feature new and meticulously maintained instruments.

In the areas of Organ, Harpsichord, Carillon and Sacred Music, undergraduate and graduate students enjoy full access to the 99-rank Andrew Anderson Memorial Organ in the University Auditorium, mechanical-action practice organs in the Music Building, a 61-bell carillon and practice clavier in the adjacent Century Tower, and a growing collection of historical keyboard instruments including five harpsichords and a Chickering grand piano from the 1860s.
