The University of Florida Trombone Studio will be presenting two events at the 2017 Florida Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference in Tampa, Florida. On Thursday January 12th at 1:45 pm in the Mariott Waterside Meeting Room No.4 Dr. Erik Shinn will give a one-hour clinic titled “Trombone Troubleshooting” detailing the most common deficiencies in middle and high school trombonists and how band and orchestra directors can approach these issues.
The following day, Friday, January 13th at 3:15 pm on the Tampa Convention Center Lobby Stage, the UF Trombone Choir will perform as part of the FMEA mini-concert series. The concert will include Dr. Shinn as soloist on A Beautiful Noise by John Frith with Ph.D. Music Education student Christopher Schletter conducting.
The clinic and performance by the UF Trombone Studio are the only two trombone-specific events for the 2017 conference.
