The Music Education program in the School of Music held their annual Music Education Rally on August 30, 2017, at the University of Florida (UF). The Rally is an opportunity for the entire music education program – undergraduates, graduate students and faculty – to come together and celebrate the music teaching profession and the start of a new academic year.
This year’s keynote speaker was Debbie Fahmie, Fine and Performing Arts Resource Specialist for the School District of Osceola County, Florida.
During the Rally officers of the UF collegiate chapter of the National Association for Music Education/Florida Music Education Association discussed the chapter’s activities and plans for professional development sessions and speakers for the year.
The Rally culminated with the singing of the Alma Mater, distribution of t-shirts with the tagline of “We teach music. What’s your superpower?” and sharing of light refreshments.
