Scenes from opera by UF composer presented in Connecticut

Two scenes from The Loathly Lady, an opera by UF faculty composer Paul Richards, were performed in Connecticut as part of Hartford Opera Theater's "New in November" opera festival on November 18. The company annually selects scenes from over 50 submitted works, and Richards was part of the festival last year as well. The Loathly Lady, with libretto by Wendy Steiner, is Richards' first opera. Additional information about the work, including video excerpts, can be found here: http://www.english.upenn.edu/~wsteiner/loathlylady.htm.

Richards' third opera, The Golem of Prague, is scheduled to be premiered by UF's Opera Theater program in the spring of 2020.
