Sarah Hersh (MM Music Composition ‘10) currently resides in Atlanta where she runs the new music ensemble Terminus Ensemble with fellow UF alumnus Adam Scott Neal. Since graduating from UF, she has been commissioned by Diagenesis Duo, several fellow UF alums and UF faculty including the Helton-Thomas Duo and the Florida Chamber Saxophonists, and Clarinets for Conservation. Her compositions have been performed across the United States and in several European countries, as well as in Tanzania. Her opera, Layover, written for the Atlanta Opera's 24 Hour Opera Project, was performed several times by NanoWorks Opera Company in 2014, including at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. Two of Sarah's pieces, River Music and We Planted a Tree, will appear on a forthcoming album by Clarinets for Conservation in late 2015. Hersh is currently working on a commission for the Boston-based ensemble Transient Canvas. In the works are also an opera and a musical, both in collaboration with lyricist Brad Fairchild.
