The School of Art + Art History has received a Technology Fee grant that will help improve technological services and equipment for students and staff at the University of Florida.
The $161,000 grant will be used to construct the Professional Production Studio for Experimental Art Practice, which will consist of 12 new Mac Pro computers, 4K monitors and a Storage Area Network (SAN), along with supporting hardware and software, according to Jack Stenner, associate professor in Art and Technology program.
Stenner says that with better storage capabilities and high-end computers, students will be able to work better with footage captured from the school’s existing advanced cameras, such as the Red Epic digital motion camera.
