Ph.D Musicology student travels to Portugal for research conference

Ph.D. Musicology student Pablo Marquine traveled to Aveiro, Portugal for the "Research Hands on Piano" conference organized by the Ethnomusicology Institute of Music and Dance at the University of Aveiro on Jan. 24-27.

Oriented by Dr. Silvio dos Santos in Historical Musicology, and guided by Dr. Hee Jung Kang in the cognate area in Piano Performance, Marquine presented a lecture recital that shared the recent research on the seminal Brazilian composer Claudio Santoro (1919-1989) and his piano works. Marquine also performed one solo piano recital, which marked the European release of the first CD of Claudio Santoro complete work for piano.
