Music alumnus accepts position at the Metropolitan Opera

Jay Goodwin (BS Journalism, Music minor, 2008) recently accepted the position of managing editor at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. He will oversee the content and production of all of the Met’s daily Playbills, write and commission program notes and feature articles, contribute to the creation and project management of the opera’s marketing materials and collaborate on the Metropolitan’s many digital and multimedia projects. He also writes about music on a freelance basis for leading ensembles and organizations, including Carnegie Hall, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Tanglewood Music Center, The Juilliard School and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Prior to his move to the Metropolitan, Jay was on the editorial staff at Carnegie Hall, where, among other things, he managed all of that institution’s educational and community outreach materials.
