UF School of Theatre + Dance alumna Katrina Asmar is currently performing the role of Diana Morales in The 5th Avenue Theatre’s production of A Chorus Line in Seattle, Washington. Asmar graduated in 2011 with a BFA in Musical Theatre.
“I couldn’t be happier to play one of my dream roles in one of my favorite shows of all time,” Asmar said.
A Chorus Line, winner of multiple Tony Awards, is “an emotional experience with raw stories and stunning dance that follows a cast of hopefuls in search of their dreams,” according to the theatre’s website. It features iconic musical theatre numbers including “One” and “What I Did for Love.”
This role comes to Asmar after performing in an international tour of In the Mood. In Gainesville, Asmar starred as Cindy-Lou in the The Marvelous Wonderettes and as Norma in Carrie, both at the Hippodrome Theatre. At UF, Asmar played the role of the murderous Velma Kelly in Chicago.
