The Center for Arts and Medicine, in partnership with HealthStreet, would like to announce open auditions for InterACT Theatre. As a part of this new interdisciplinary theatre troupe, performers will collaborate to create and perform forum and guerrilla-style theatre with a focus on health communications. The InterACT theatre troupe will perform on campus, around Gainesville and North Central Florida throughout the 2015-16 school year.
What is InterACT Theatre?
A new interdisciplinary theatre troupe with a focus on health communication.
Who should audition?
Actors, singers, spoken word artists, writers, dancers, musicians and health sciences students and professionals.
What will the troupe do?
Performers will collaborate to create and perform forum and guerrilla-style theatre on campus, around Gainesville and throughout North Central Florida throughout the 2015-16 school year. Performance themes will include addiction, intimate partner violence and reproductive health.
How do I audition?
Please prepare two contrasting pieces (totaling 3 minutes). We are interested in seeing what you do best: a monologue or spoken word piece, an acapella song or movement combination, a writing sample or something unique that catches our attention. Bring in your instrument or special ability and be prepared to tell us why you find this kind of work meaningful.
Open Auditions are September 28 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the McGuire School of Theatre and Dance, room G-13
