For conductors, being live in the same space as their ensemble is crucial to give gestures and receive musical feedback. With COVID-19 precautions limiting the number of singers in a single space, Dr. Chip Birkner adjusted the format of the School of Music's introductory conducting course to find ways to safely learn and make music together.
