Dr. Peter Wood (trumpet) and Dr. Robert Holm (piano) from the University of South Alabama presented a stunning recital at the University of Florida on October 8.
The first half of the recital included a Polonaise for Trumpet and Piano by Rudolf Haken and a few lovely transcriptions by Peter Wood of pieces by Reynaldo Hahn and Max Bruch. The second half opened with a ruckus multimedia presentation of Jacob ter Veldhuis’ (JacobTV) Close Fight followed by a soothing rendition of Eric Ewazen’s Sonata for Trumpet and Piano. Brilliant playing was heard from both guest artists.
Wood and Holm, also, presented masterclasses for their respective instruments on October 9.
