Effective July 1, 2018, Dr. Megan M. Sheridan was appointed to the editorial committee of General Music Today for a term of six years. General Music Today is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles relating to issues of interest to general music education professionals teaching at levels from early childhood through high school.
Sheridan's article “The Kodály Concept in the United States: Early American Adaptations to Recent Evolutions” was recently accepted for publication in the Journal of Historical Research in Music Education, a prestigious journal in the field. It is currently available online and will be published in a forthcoming issue. The purpose of the article was to trace the development of the Kodály movement in the United States from its implementation in the 1960s to present day.
