Dr. James Paul Sain, Professor of Composition in the School of Music, presented his work “redbird express” (fixed media composition) at the 2017 Society of Composers Inc. (SCI) National Conference at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. Sain presided as presided over his last meetings of the national organization while at the conference. After a three-year term, Sain is now president emeritus of SCI.
