Diogo Carvalho, a Ph.D. Music Composition student, obtained his degree in music at USP, the public university of his native city, São Paulo. In Impressionism – Acoustic Guitar Solo, the guitarist reaches amusing achievements interpreting his own transcriptions for the instrument, works composed originally for piano or orchestra by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Erik Satie. As a composer, Carvalho works in diverse styles. Electronic music, guitar music, concerts, songs, incidental music and improvisation. Carvalho also pursues activities as a teacher. In 2006, he released the first volume of Violão Solo MPB (Acoustic Guitar Solo Brazilian Popular Music), which includes original arrangements for guitar solo of traditional popular Brazilian song repertoire.
