Carillon students attend congress of the GCNA

Members of the UF carillon studio attended the 74th annual congress of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA) from June 15-20, 2016. New compositions were the focus of this gathering held at Yale University. Over 200 attendees and guests heard works composed expressly for this congress (works were representative of 50 different composers and performed by 57 different carillonneurs). Laura Ellis, associate professor in the School of Music, premiered “Resurgam” by New Haven composer Tawnie Olson.
