Having only graduated in 2014, alumna Stefanie Anarumo has already made quite an impact.
Since her graduation, Anarumo (BFA ‘14) has performed in PublicWorks’ Twelfth Night at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park and was the recipient of the Fulbright Research Grant where she created a children’s theatre for the deaf in Rome, Italy.
“The School of Theatre + Dance and College of the Arts have always encouraged students to push themselves further, both as artists and humanitarians,” Anarumo said. “I can honestly say, every single class, experience, rehearsal, extra-curricular activity, research project, paper, performance-- whatever it was -- has had a direct impact on the artist I am today, and I am forever grateful.”
Anarumo has joined the faculty of The Performing Arts Project, a theatre summer intensive for aspiring theatre professionals. This opportunity has given Anarumo the chance to explore her passion for directing. Most recently, she was invited by the Key West Theatre to direct her original scenes from the play 129 Miles from Walmart, an evening of new works written by various Floridian playwrights.
