Dr. Samuel Nortey is an Associate Professor at the Ceramics Section of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Ghana. With a PhD in African Art and Culture and a degree in Ceramics from KNUST, Dr. Nortey works both as an artist, art historian and art educator. Nortey works with both contemporary and traditional artists and has a niche in developing the design thinking of local potters in Ghana and expanding their frontiers of ceramic production.Sponsored by the UF Center for African Studies, the UF Center for Arts, Migration + Entrepreneurship, and the UF School of Art + Art History.
