Dvořák’s Requiem & John William’s “Hymn to the Fallen”
Remembering D-Day 80 years later. On June 6, 1944 more than 160,000 Allied troops landed on a 50-mile stretch of heavily fortified coastline in Normandy, France to fight Nazi Germany. We honor the more than 9,000 Allied soldiers who were killed or wounded. More than this, we remember all our Veteran heroes who have given the ultimate sacrifice. This performance of Antonin Dvořák’s powerful, solemn Requiem and John William’s “Hymn to the Fallen” from the movie Saving Private Ryan, are dedicated to them.
