- Description
Join the UF Center for Arts in Medicine Theater for Health Team in a unique theatrical adventure for LGBTQ+ teens ages 13-18.
This 8-week program combines theater games and exercises with storytelling and discussion to build a sense of community and benefit wellbeing. No previous theatre experience is required, all abilities are welcome!
Our theatre for health team is comprised of both arts in health professionals and mental health professionals. All of our facilitators complete training and background checks by the University of Florida Office of Youth Conferences to preserve our participants' mental wellbeing and physical safety.
The suggested total donation of $60 is on a sliding scale (suggested range $40 - $60). Please give via check or money order, in-person, on the first day of Theatre Connect to "UF Foundation, Inc" with memo: "Theatre Connect." Your donation helps cover attendance to the entire 8-week program.
Our thoughtfully selected activities and discussions are guided by our participants' needs and cover topics such as:
Improvisational theatre
Story-telling
Character development
Sociodrama
Self-confidence
Playwriting
Adaptability
Conflict resolution
