  • Description

    Incongruo(us) features modern contemporary dance technique paired with innovative concepts and unique choreography. Part of the Dance Composition 4 class, in this performance the junior BFA Dance majors assume roles of producer, director and choreographer. Audience members should expect to experience works possessing humorous, intense, pleasurable and thought-provoking qualities. Incongruo(us) will present the work of guest artists and faculty, including George Staib, Stuart Pimsler Dance and Theater and Nita Little, and will serve as a farewell to the seniors of the BFA program. Little, a UF School of Theatre + Dance visiting assistant professor, will premiere a piece that integrates dance improvisation with projections.

    The showcase includes a Community in Motion performance on Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. directed by  UF School of Theatre + Dance Visiting Assistant Professor Trent D. Williams, Jr., and also features dancers from Santa Fe College, Valencia College and local hip hop dance group, Levitations.
