- Description
The School of Art + Art History is offering a two-week residential Pre-College program for high school students (aged 15+) with classes in Design + Illustration and Observational Painting. The courses encompass an exciting mix of hands-on technical projects, field trips, and group critiques, culminating in a group exhibition at the Harn Museum of Art on the UF campus.
In the Design + Illustration class, students will learn the techniques and skills that design professionals use to create impactful digital and physical designs (instructor: Rachel McDonald Brintnall, MFA 2020). The class Observational Painting will focus on exploring tone, color relationships, and painting light to create a small portfolio of acrylic paintings (instructor: Logan Marconi, MFA 2013).
Our classes are designed to offer student artists and designers the experience of living and learning on the beautiful UF campus. It's a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and build a portfolio while receiving world-class instruction at a world-class institution.
