The First Annual Florida Carillon Festival continues on Saturday, February 15th at 6PM with a performance by guest artist Roy Kroezen, carillonneur of the Centralia Carillon in Centralia, Illinois. The Valentine's Day program contains well-known favorites such as Elvis Presley's "Love Me Tender" and George Gershwin's "I've Got a Crush on You." Kroezen will also perform the Prelude to Act One of Tristan and Isolde by Richard Wagner arranged by UF carillonneur emeritus Willis Bodine.

Roy Kroezen is originally from The Netherlands, where he spent 22 years as a musician and organist. He studied carillon at the Netherlands Carillon School in Amersfoort, as well in Belgium and holds a masters degree in carillon, organ and choir conducting. Kroezen was appointed carillonneur of the Centralia Carillon in 2016. He is also organist at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois and the Fox Theater in St. Louis, Missouri.

Guest artists of the Florida Carillon Festival, in its inaugural year, will perform a series of concerts on all four carillons in the state (Venice, Lake Wales, Gainesville, and Clearwater). The series will continue with additional artists appearing in Gainesville on March 14 and April 18.

The program is free and open to the public!
