The Gainesville Society of the Archaeological Institute of America will present "Cultural Destruction: War and Archaeology" on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in UF’s Fine Arts Building B, Room 103. Topics include “Libya's Cultural Heritage Under Threat” by Professor Susan Kane of Oberlin College, “Saving Archaeology in Crisis Areas” by Laurie Rush, Ph.D., US Army Archaeologist, and “The Challenge of Safeguarding and Managing Cultural Heritage in Arab Countries” by Esam Alhadi, Ph.D., UF Dept. of Languages, Literature, and Cultures.
