- Description
A workshop with Kristin McCarthy Parker. All disciplines welcome. This will be a mostly hands-on workshop in creating and staging theater in a collaborative environment with little resources other than your imagination and ingenuity. We'll work on trusting yourself, letting go of "right vs wrong" and "smart vs stupid," and discovering a physical vocabulary that is unique, inventive, and engages the audience's imagination.
Kristin McCarthy Parker is a freelance director currently residing in New York City. Recent projects include Matt Cox’s Puffs and Kapow-i GoGo, and the hit comedies Hold On To Your Butts and Fly, You Fools! with her company, Recent Cutbacks. She has directed and developed work at Ma-Yi, 59E59, The Flea, HERE Arts, Dixon Place, The Peoples Improv Theater, FringeNYC, and others. She has also directed for the acting and playwriting programs at Atlantic Acting School, Columbia University, Rutgers University, and Fordham/Primary Stages.
