    This program, presented by two internationally known French artists, grapples with the fine line between classical and jazz. Presenting an exclusive program of music written specifically for them, the French duo of saxophonist Nicolas Prost and Sébastien Paindestre seeks to attract new audiences with an engaging mix of music that mixes musical styles of two universes, jazz and classical. “Border Jazz” is a crossover project with 25 world premieres including pieces by Chris Potter, Branford Marsalis, James Carter, John Helliwell, Michel Portal, Laurent de Wilde, Henri Texier, Bojan Z, Baptiste Herbin, Ibrahim Maalouf and the great saxophone legend Wayne Shorter.

    Nicholas Prost will present a lecture at 5:10 PM in MUB 101 on "Forgotten Saxophone Music" where he will present music he has uncovered in his pandemic-inspired research project. Music for saxophone by well-known composers will now see the light of day after years of neglect.
