The UF School of Music, the UF Center for Latin American Studies, and the Center for Arts, Migration + Entrepreneurship (CAME) are proud to announce our 2023 World Music Fest at Bo Diddley Plaza in downtown Gainesville. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of world music under the stars!
For nearly two decades, various UF World Music ensembles have performed in downtown Gainesville and at different social functions, establishing arts programming and partnerships across the university and the local community. Celebrate the music of the world with a diverse network of artists, faculty, students and community partners that exemplify the goals of equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion.
The evening will feature Arismar do Espirito Santo, a special guest from Brazil, Maharajah Flamenco Trio, and several ensembles with unique mixtures of musical instruments, repertoires and arrangements providing new perspectives on interpreting the diverse musical regions.
