Undergraduate Advising

Advising Hours

The School of Art + Art History's Undergraduate Advisor, Dana Myers, hosts a variety of open student "drop-in" hours each week.  There are no appointments; advising works via the virtual "Drop-in" hours only. The hours vary week to week depending on other administrative obligations. The hours listed here will be updated at the beginning of each week. We have found that advising works very well on zoom, so joining the zoom "drop-in" hours will always be a possibility.  If you would prefer in-person, we usually have an advisor available to meet in person during the scheduled advising hours. Just stop by FAC 108 and follow the instructions on the door. Instructions for how to sign into the virtual zoom hours (so you don't have to be on campus) are listed below.  These "drop-in" hours are for current UF undergraduate students only.  If you are a prospective student, please email saahadmissions@arts.ufl.edu with your inquiry.

How to Sign In for Undergraduate Advising  "Drop-in" Hours

All students (in-person and virtual) will sign in to the Advising lobby by clicking the link below:

  1. Sign-in to the Advising Lobby with this linkhttps://uf.force.com/LobbyManagement/s/lobby-kiosk?lobby=0014100001iXsek

NOTE: The lobby sign-in system opens approximately 30 minutes before the designated "drop-in" advising hours begin and closes approximately 20 minutes before the end of designated advising hours – though the lobby may close sooner if a large number of students are already in the queue to be seen. The queue and estimated wait times are NOT always reflective of the actual situation-please sign in to the approprate links as soon as you're able as we may end up getting to students sooner than the estimation suggests.

  2. Virtual Meetings: We are pleased to still offer Zoom during drop-in hours! This is a TWO-step process:
[1] you sign into the virtual Advising Lobby system (to keep track of who's in line to talk to an advisor), and
[2] you sign in to Zoom meeting and "wait" in the SA+AH Advising Zoom "waiting room" until you are admitted into the Zoom meeting (this step is not automatic or related to the Advising Lobby- so PLEASE make sure to sign into Zoom as well!). Waiting to sign into Zoom may delay your meeting. Advisors will meet with you one-on-one, in the order in which you signed in. Please follow the instructions and links below: Join theSA+AH Advising Zoom Meeting by literally clicking on these words (during the specified walk-in hours only!). This is for UF students only, to use with your UF zoom account (requires password).

  3. Heads up: the wait times can be significant, depending on the time of year. During pre-registration for the upcoming term, the wait can be up to two hours long (or more!). HINT: the wait times during the morning hours are generally much less than the afternoon hours. We know it's frustrating, but it is consistent with advising wait times across much of campus during pre-registration.

  4. Questions about this process? Unable to make it to any of the "Drop-in" hours or having trouble signing in? Please email the Undergraduate Advisors at SAAHAdvising@arts.ufl.edu.
