Creating Healthy Communities

Creating Healthy Communities: Arts + Public Health in America was a national initiative (2018–2020) designed to accelerate innovation at the intersection of arts, community development, and public health. Through cross-sector collaboration, the initiative convened leaders from across the country, developed a research agenda, and produced a field resource that aims to strengthen partnerships between the arts and public health sectors.

The Creating Healthy Communities: Arts + Public Health in America White Paper serves as the capstone of this effort. It synthesizes the insights, shared language, and priorities that emerged throughout the initiative and offers guidance for artists, public health practitioners, and policymakers seeking to advance place-based arts and culture strategies that support community health. The white paper provides a framework for strengthening partnerships and advancing healthier communities.
