Graduate Assistantship in Clarinet Performance

The responsibilities of the position will include:

  • teaching undergraduate non-major clarinet students
  • teaching woodwind methods classes
  • performing in University of Florida ensembles
  • assisting with the University of Florida Clarinet Ensemble
  • assisting Professor Estrin in the day to day operations of the Clarinet Studio

Qualifications for the position are:

  • an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
  • a strong background in clarinet performance
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • an outstanding musical/academic record

The Assistantship offers:

  • Stipend
  • 9 Credit Hours per Semester
  • Health Insurance
  • Out-of-State Tuition Waiver
  • Florida Resident

Graduate Audition Materials:

1. Mozart - Clarinet Concerto
2. A contrasting solo selection of your choice
3. First clarinet orchestral excerpts:
          - Beethoven - Symphony No. 6
          - Brahms - Symphony No. 3
          - Rimsky-Korsakov - Capriccio Espagnol

This is the suggested audition repertoire list. Commensurate literature is also acceptable.
